This article will guide you through the steps necessary to configure your Joomla site to integrate with our CDNs. To do this, we will use the CDN for Joomla! extension from www.nonumber.nl.

Setting up Your Joomla Install for CDN Integration

Step #1 – Creating a Pull Zone for Your Site:

Step #2 – Installing the CDN for Joomla! Extension on Your Site:

  • Begin by downloading the CDN for Joomla! Extension onto your machine from NoNumber.nl website. (You do not need to unzip this file)
  • Log into your Joomla administration section
  • Click on the Extensions Tab on the top navigation bar and select “Install/Uninstall”
  • In the box titled “Upload Package File,” click on the button that says “Choose File” and browse to the CDN for Joomla! Extension (the .zip file you downloaded to start step 1)
  • Click on the “Upload File & Install” button and let Joomla install the extension into your website.

Step #3 – Configuring the CDN for Joomla! Extension to Use Your Pull Zone:

  • Log into your Joomla administration section again
  • Click on the “Extensions” tab from the top navigation bar and select “Plugin Manager”
  • Browse to the CDN for Joomla! plugin, named System – CDN for Joomla!, and click on it to edit the settings.
  • On the settings page, simply enter the domain for your pull zone into the CDN URL Domain field and click save.
    • You are now using your CDN to serve all of the selected file types in your settings. View the page source for your website to verify that this is true.
